Khrys Kyriacou is a qualified social worker with over 25 years’ experience working within the voluntary, statutory and private sector within domestic violence, child protection and substance abuse services.
Over the last 17 years, Khrys has delivered training to a wide audience within all sectors and has worked for the Local Authority delivering training for Brighton and Hove for the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board.
Within her work as a consultant, Khrys has delivered bespoke training to schools particularly addressing conflict management and 1-1 reflective supervision.
Khrys is a court appointment expert witness and continues to work as a freelance independent social worker providing expert assessments as a domestic violence and abuse-parenting assessor.
As an associate for Sussex University Khrys had trained BA and MA students covering domestic abuse and child abuse with an emphasis on equality issues particularly gender and ethnicity.
Khrys has 17 years’ experience of working within the voluntary and statutory sector and has managed services up to CEO level. Within these roles, Khrys has developed policies and procedures, developed new services and implemented change in line with legislation. Under Khrys’ management, the refuge service she was managing was one of the first to house pre-op trans women, house women with complex mental health needs and women with substance and alcohol misuse. The refuge was the only the safe place in the UK to take male children up to the age of 18 which was all driven by a commitment to equalities and accessibility for all minority and socially isolated vulnerable people.
Over the last 8 years, Khrys has worked with the Equality Academy as their Lead Associate Trainer. She has delivered Equality and Diversity training to the voluntary, private and statutory sector. Khrys delivers ED & Training to local Authorities across the UK.
In 2023, Khrys completed her Mental Health First Aid training and is now delivering the two day training in Mental Health on line and face to face to across England.
Khrys will be a valuable addition to the Freedom Team.
